Sarojini Naidu was born on February 13, 1879, in Hyderabad, India.
Naidu was a gifted child and showed signs of her intellectual abilities from a young age. She was proficient in several languages, including Urdu, Telugu, English, and Bengali.
She received her education from England and studied at King’s College London and Girton College, Cambridge.
Naidu was a talented poet and her first collection of poems, named “The Golden Threshold,” was published in 1905
First Women President
She became the first woman president of the Indian National Congress in 1925 and held the position till 1929.
Sarojini Naidu passed away on March 2, 1949, Her birth anniversary is celebrated as Women's Day in India.
